Scottish Poetry Lesson – Robert Burns


A completely scripted out 5th Grade Poetry lesson plan on the famous Scottish Poet, Robert Burns. This lesson is so complete that you can hand it over to a substitute teacher!

Using one of Scotland’s best-known songs, Auld Lang Syne by Robert Burns, students will learn how to determine the theme of a text and determine the narrator’s opinion about it. This 50-minute lesson involves students doing some internet research using links provided in the lesson.
